Differentiating subsystems controlled with the same electronics.

The article describes an economical architectural method that enables the detection of mismatched connections between subsystems controlled with the same electronics in various machines. Based on the technique, physical/hardware addresses are issued to each subsystem, which then undergoes firmware checks to ensure that the subsystem connected to a concrete point at the master-controller side is the right one. The test is conducted at the manufacturing level with no added cost.
