Abstract

The article presents a study which evaluated the prognostic value of right ventricular (RV) longitudinal peak systolic strain (LPSS) in patients with pulmonary hypertension. In the study, the speckle-tracking echocardiography was used to assess RV LPSS. The clinical assessment included the evaluation of New York Heart Association (NYHA) functional class and broad evaluation of demographics, cardiovascular risk factors and medical treatment.
