Abstract
- The article presents a study which described the lived experiences of neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) nurses with ethical issues based on interviews with registered nurses working in the NICU. The participants' perceptions of the lived experience of caring for infants with neonatal abstinence syndrome are presented. Results showed that nurses struggled with issues of beneficence and nonmaleficence and were not aware of evidence that guides methadone management of pregnant women.
