Abstract

The article presents a research study that investigated the effect and treatment-related complications of ticagrelor versus clopidogrel in elderly patients with acute coronary syndrome. Methods are presented involving the PLATelet inhibition and patient Outcomes (PLATO) trial and the use of Cox proportional hazards models. The results of the comparison of patient characteristics, procedures, and clinical outcomes in elderly and young patients are discussed along with their efficacy and safety.
