The article discusses the mural of Vital-Justin Grandin painted on the Light Rail Transit Station in Edmonton by French Canadian artist Sylvia Nadeau of Alberta, with reference to the fields of Canadian history, historiography, and sites of memory since the 1970s. Topics discussed include problems of history writing centered on collective memory, the history and cultural memory of French speaking minority groups in Alberta and other parts of Canada, and the problematics inherent in the writing of multicultural histories.
