Abstract
- Fibrillated polypropylene fibres for concrete reinforcement were produced. The fibres were formed in industrial conditions at different formation parameters. Selected fibres with the best mechanical parameters were used for concrete reinforcement. Compressive strength of concrete and freeze resistance was investigated. In addition, a microscopic examinations of the fracture of concrete samples were performed. It was stated that fibres have satisfactory mechanical properties. The network structure of fibres enables formation of stronger bonds and better adhesion of fibres to concrete components. Addition of fibres inhibits the propagation of cracks in concrete and increases the resistance of concrete to the destructive effects of cyclic freezing. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
