Abstract

The article presents tips that educators can incorporate into the classroom to spark conversation about money management. It states that simulation-based software can be used to help students learn to budget, use debit and credit cards, save money, pay rent and avoid debt. The availability of free personal finance tools to help teens pay bills, check balances and transfer money between accounts is noted. Educators are advised to tailor money discussions to students' interests, to encourage students to log what they spend, and to conduct a stock market simulation.
