Abstract
- The article focuses on the challenges of evaluating clinical devices by using usability techniques in field studies. The study was done on an anaesthesia device used at a children's hospital, where the benefits and weaknesses of usability methods were assessed including diary study, thinking aloud, and interview. Results suggested enhancements to the quality and cost-benefit link of field studies on medical devices.
