Abstract
- The article reports on research from the National Research Council (NRC) of the National Academy of Sciences concerning K-12 curriculum change to encourage the teaching of critical thinking and communication skills in the U.S. It reports on the need for deeper learning and teaching a 21st century skill set in order to prepare children from a young age for the future workforce. Other topics explored include transferable knowledge, educational attainment, and core academic content.
