Abstract
- The article highlights how the Writers in Prison Network (WIPN) in Great Britain can help curb recidivism among prisoners from black and ethnic minority (BME) backgrounds by giving them an outlet for exercising their creativity and telling their stories, which are usually misunderstood or ignored by society. Despite the withdrawal of funding from the British Arts Council, the WIPN offers 16 residencies for deserving artists and various programs in creative writing, theater, and music.
