Abstract: An essay is presented on cognitive line in developmental assessment. It explores on the measurement of intuitions about wisdom, in which it includes development of heart, soul, and ego, in addition to cognition. It offers various definitions of the cognitive line and suggest about the limitations of identifying precise developmental lines independent of pre-defined tasks. It also discusses the limitations of models in relation to hierarchically structured formal developmental models.
