Abstract: The article presents news briefs on international oil drilling and production as of June 2012. A global study by Douglas-Westwood, Ltd. in Great Britain said global growth in land rig demand will average 5 percent a year from 2012 to 2016. A steel jacket has been installed by Statoil ASA on the North Sea Valemon field. A group of oil producers claims success in demonstrations of a technique for generating heavy oil with electrical heat from radio waves followed by solvent injection.
