Abstract

The article presents a study that determined whether immediate ketamine treatment has protective effects on mouse with induced cerebral ischemia and ischemia/reperfusion injury. It states that the nuclear factor kappa B is expressed following neuron hypoxic/ischemic injury. The findings suggest that ketamine has no notable effect in infarct volume after ischemia while reduced infarction volume was noted after ischemia and reperfusion accounted on the drug's regulation of c-Jun protein.
