Abstract

The article discusses the results of the Concord Health and Ageing in Men Project (CHAMP) cohort study that determines the levels of prostate-specific antigen (PSA) in men aged 70 years and above. The study shows that 11 percent of the 1,434 men had a PSA level that increased from 7.5 percent of men aged 70-74 years to 31.4 percent of men 90 years. It concludes that a significant number of men aged over 70 have recent prostate cancer tests.
