Abstract
- The article discusses improvements made by the Rivanna Water and Sewer Authority (RWSA) to the Moores Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) in Charlottesville, Virginia to achieve significant energy savings and improve treatment performance. It outlines alternative options for biogas use considered by RWSA including the installation of a combined heat and power system. The way the enhancements benefited the nutrient removal performance of the facility is described.
