Lighting and Sustainable Energy: the Theory.

The article presents a summary of a study of the potential of sustainable technologies for public lighting and the development of a conceptual solar lighting system that was presented at the conference of the Institution of Lighting Professionals (ILP) in Harrogate, North Yorkshire, England on September 29, 2011. A brief background of the project is presented. Its objectives are cited, one of which was to design a reliable and sustainable retrofit renewable energy system for street lighting.
