Tartrate-resistant acid phosphatase as a biomarker of bone turnover in dog.

The article investigates the determination of serum tartrate-resistant acid phosphatase (TRAP) activity in adult dogs including total and bone alkaline phosphatase serum activities and their relationship with serum calcium, phosphorous and magnesium. Results of the study suggest that canine serum TRAP activity could be valuable in research and clinical practice providing complementary non-invasive information on bone metabolism.
