Abstract

The article discusses a clinical comparison between basal-bolus insulin (BBI) versus sliding-scale insulin (SSI) for inpatient glycaemic control. According to the research, patients examined with BBI resulted in lower mean daily blood glucose level (BGL) than with SSI. BBI is reviewed to be effective and appeared to be superior compared to SSI under regular clinical conditions. It is recommended to implement the procedures for inpatient glycaemic control observed with BBI.
