INTRODUCING THE AISC SHAPES DATABASE V14.0.

The article presents text and diagrams from the shapes database compiled by the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC). This version 14.0 of the database includes less frequently used and more shape-specific properties, and introduces new properties such as the elastic section modulus, moment of inertia, and those for torsional analysis of channels. This is the first of a three-part series on new companion materials to complement the 14th edition of the "Steel Construction Manual."
