Thymomas in Rabbits: Clinical Evaluation, Diagnosis, and Treatment.

Abstract: The article discusses a study which identified all pet rabbits in which a mediastinal mass was diagnosed between February 2007 and January 2010. Signalment, history and clinical signs were evaluated along with diagnostic work-up, treatment modalities and survival time. The study found that cytology of samples collected by ultrasound-guided fine-needle aspiration is an accurate diagnostic tool to identify thymomas in rabbits.
