Abstract

The article discusses a study which assessed the long-term efficacy of aripiprazole in children with bipolar disorder. Aripiprazole is an atypical antipsychotic, approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the treatment of manic or mixed episodes with bipolar I disorder. The results indicate that aripiprazole may be superior to placebo in the long-term treatment of pediatric patients.
