Abstract

This study examined validity and reliability of the Attitude Toward Educational Measurement Inventory (ATEMI). Undergraduate teacher education students (N = 294) enrolled in an educational measurement course at Sultan Qaboos University in Oman completed the ATEMI. Confirmatory factor analyses indicated that a three-factor structure of the ATEMI provided a good fit to the observed data. Cluster analyses suggested three clusters of students who were distinct with regard to their attitudes toward educational measurement. Significant positive relationships were found between ATEMI scores and academic achievement scores in thc course. The ATEMI scores had high internal consistency reliability and moderate stability. These results support the utility of the ATEMI for research and instructional purposes. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
