Abstract
- The article presents studies aimed at testing the hypothesis supposing the ability of the copy number variation (CNV) in glutathione S-transferases (GSTs) T1 (GSTT1) and GSTM1 genes to predict ischemic vascular disease (IVD) risk. The study made use of a real-time polymerase chain reaction technique and carried out meta-analyses. Results indicate the absence of the association of CNV in GSTT1 and GSTM1 genes with IVD risk nor with inflammation markers.
