Abstract

The article discusses a study on evidence-based dietary guidance and the role of dairy products for appropriate nutrition in the elderly population in The Netherlands. It explores the nutritional status of the elderly, the science behind their nutritional requirements and the relevance of nutrient-dense foods in evidence-based strategies to improve the target group's nutrition. The study noted that prevention and treatment of undernutrition should undergird a nutrition policy for the elderly.
