Abstract

The article offers information on the major causes of back pain in adults. It mentions sprains, strains and spasms which usually result from injury or activity and refer to ligament injury, overstretched muscle, and muscle contraction, respectively. It cites degenerative osteoarthritis or spondylosis which is an inevitable consequence of aging because of too much pressure received by lumbar disks. It notes spinal deformities which can be developed during childhood or adolescence.
