Abstract
- The article presents a study concerning the formation of 4-Pentulosonates (4-Keto-D-pentonates) and 4-Keto-D-aldopentoses having unidentified membrane-bound enzymes coming from acetic acid bacteria. Study uses various methods to examine the formation including thin layer chromatography (TLC), centrifugation, and ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA) treatment. Findings reveal the unidentified membrane-bound enzymes which contribute in the formation of 4-Pentulosonates and 4-Keto-D-aldopentoses.
