Abstract

In wireless communication, diversity techniques are widely used in order to improve the performance of data transmission over fading radio channels. In particular, transmitter diversity is gaining a lot of attention lately in the wireless community. In multiple cellular multiple access communication, data transmission can not be carried through reliably because of the interferences from inter-cell and intra-cell interference. In the paper, space-time block codes at two and four transmit antennas are used for interference cancellation in asynchronous fast-fading multiple access channels. In DS-CDMA system, the bit-error-rate is computed and the relationship between diversity gain and interference cancellation is assessed. It is proved that space-time block code can improve system performance by canceling inter-cell and intra-cell interference. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
