Abstract
- This paper derived new illumination-affine invariant features that is based on affine moment normalization techniqes, Zernike moments and multiband correlation functions. Affine moment invariants were obtained by the normalization method, while illumination invariants were obtained by the combined moment method and singular value decomposition method. Complex valued moments (i. e., Zernike moments) are necessary to be used in the derivation of illumination invariants where the real valued moment a{fine invariants fails to reach the task of affine invariants that are independent of illumination changes. The experimental results show the high recognition efficiency of the proposed recognition models. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
