Analysis of Pounding Between Adjacent Structures.

A new model of pounding between adjacent structures was brought forward. By establishing the pounding-imposed velocity restraint condition, the pounding analysis is carried out by solving the equations of motion in impulse. The impact force is incorporated implicitly into the governing equations in terms of constraint impulse, which need not be obtained in advance. Moreover, it can be traced out by simple element handling if necessary. In the end, pounding analysis between two frames was performed to show the efficiency of the presented model.
