Abstract
- The article focuses on the planned relocation of a million cubic yards of toxic mine tailings from the nearby Mike Horse Dam which is a part of a state Superfund site sitting at the headwaters of the Blackfoot River in Montana. It mentions the Repository Sitting Study released by the Montana Department of Environmental Quality and U.S. Forest Service which identifies Section 35's benched topography and mineral rights. Mike Grimes believes that the tailings must stay right where they are.
