The article discusses cross-country soaring over the Sierra Mountains of California and Nevada using a Duo Discus T sailplane. Preparations for the 13-hour flight include weather evaluation, flight planning, and coordination with the controlling centers. The flight's first turnpoint was 396 kilometers south of Minden, the second was 490 kilometers north of the first turnpoint, and the third turnpoint was 505 kilometers to the south near the first turnpoint.
