Abstract
- This article discusses the history of the development and evolution of poetry written during the late 17th and early 18th century in the Spanish colonies of the Americas, referred to as New Spain. It explores several works by authors including Juana Inés de la Cruz, Jacinto de Evia, Carlos de Sigüenza y Góngora, and Juan del Valle y Caviedes. The author examines the process of the printing, publication, and distribution of these authors' poems throughout the Spanish colonies during this time period.
