Abstract

The article analyzes the social network structure of law professoriate in the U.S. The authors illustrate the dominance of law schools, led by Harvard Law School in Cambridge, Massachusetts, in the production of law professors. They point out that understanding the reproduction of hierarchy in law schools helps people determine which ideas are being prioritized in courts and legal theories. They also provide a computational analysis of an information diffusion process relating to law.
