Abstract: The article discusses a study on the dynamics of large amplitude tidal bores, also called mascaret, that propagate in he Gironde estuary and the Garonne River in France. It is said that tidal bore phenomenon is studied because of its effect on the river ecosystem behavior and analogies with tsunami-induced river bores. The researchers have observed that as the tides on the estuary and the river propagate upstream, the wave becomes deformed.
