Abstract: The article discusses a study on the assessment of the original principle of latching control strategy and its variants for wave-energy point absorbers. A history of wave-energy conversion technology is provided. In addition, the mathematical foundations of point-absorber modeling in the frequency domain for latching control are described. One of the mathematical models for a system of wave-energy point absorbers is a forced linear mechanical system.
