Takotsubo Cardiomyopathy.

The article describes the case of a 70 year old woman who sought emergency medical attention for chest pressure, left arm numbness and severe sweating. The patient was in severe respiratory distress in the emergency department and was afebrile and had a blood pressure of 87/70 mm Hg. Preliminary diagnosis was acute anterior wall myocardial infarction (MI) with cardiogenic shock and pulmonary edema. A ventriculogram showed transient LV apical ballooning syndrome or takotsubo cardiomyopathy (TC).
