Abstract
- The article presents a study that aims to help clinicians develop a prognostic guideline for deciding whether to continue a particular antidepressant therapy when little or no benefit has yet been observed. It conducted a preliminary 12-week open-label trial with fluoxetine on subjects diagnosed with major depressive disorder and a subsequent 52-week continuation trial. It compared findings based on weeks 6, 8 and 12 to show the response rates at a variety of time frames.
