Abstract: A framework is presented for analysing business engagement across advanced trading exchanges. Profiles of engagement are examined specifically for the case of assimilation exchanges. It is shown that in this new form of exchange the level of integration is connected with operational and business dynamics on a Data-Information- Knowledge-Complexity (D-I-K-C) value chain. Identification of the dynamical connection between engagement profile and value chain is shown to be a powerful means of analysing advanced forms of eBusiness. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
