Evaluation of Health Map: a patient-centred web-based service for supporting HIV-infected patients.

The article discusses a study that aimed to describe the use of and response to the self-management web site Health Map, which was created to address the key chronic health issues of people with HIV. Health issues were assessed against recommendations for factors such as treatment adherence, vaccination, alcohol consumption and body mass index. The majority of people who completed the full Health Map program were male Australians, including men who have sex with men (MSM). The results indicated that HIV and more general health care is suboptimal for a significant proportion of respondents.
