Abstract

The article offers information on the use of digester gas fuel with combined heat and electrical power (CHP) technology to reduce the consumption of electricity in the waterwaste treatment plants (WWTPs). It mentions that food waste, fats, and grease can be used as alternative feedstocks to increase the production of digester gas in small facilities. Jason Wiser, one of the engineers of Brown & Caldwell, says that digester gas with CHP can lessen the energy consumption by 30 to 100%.
