Abstract: The article reports on the call of Saudi columnist Daoud al-Shiryan for Arab states to intervene in the Syrian unrest in middle of Turkey's growing role in the nation. It notes that the 1,300 civilians have died in the government's violent crackdown on a widening popular uprising against the regime of the nation's President Bashar al-Assad. According to Shiryan, humanitarian role of Turkey toward the Syrian refugees may develop to political issues.
