Abstract

The article describes ballet exercises that benefit people who are not ballet dancers. Ballet improves posture, body alignment, balance, fitness, coordination and overall awareness of the body. Core ballet movements strengthen core muscles such as the internal and external obliques and back and abdominal muscles. The Demi Plie exercise squeezes the lower abdomen while leg beats strengthen the abdominal muscles.
