Abstract

The article discusses interior redecorating in Dublin, Ireland in the late 18th century. Particular focus is given to various means of and motives for redecoration. According to the author, redecoration projects were used not only to display fashion and social status, but also to maintain and refurbish rooms and furnishings. Topics discussed include neoclassical or Adamesque style, cultural capital, and consumer goods.
