Research, information and consent for the Australian Health Survey: a separate standard for Indigenous people?

The author reflects on the Australian Health Survey (AHS) 2011-2013. She notes the exclusion of the Indigenous people under the age of 18 from direct clinical measurements and laboratory tests in the succeeding AHS. She also reports the discrimination of Indigenous people from donating blood and urine samples to a national repository. She believes that these exclusions will become precedents and deprive the Indigenous and medical communities to improve health profiles and outcomes.
