Abstract
- The article discusses the philosophy and understanding by French philosopher, Michel Foucault, about the hermeneutics of the subject. It explores the association between Foucault's plea against continuous history and his criticism on the sovereignty of the subject. The transdisciplinarity of the basic concept of the subject claimed by other French philosophers, such as Paul Ricoeur and Vincent Descombes, is also explained.
