Abstract
- The article discusses the political aspects of federal aid to education in the U.S. U.S. It has been suggested by Republican members of the U.S. House of Representatives that President Barack Obama's proposed federal budget for fiscal year 2012 be altered to cut $41.5 billion in spending for secondary education. U.S. Representative Harold Rogers and his ideas about the cut are discussed, particularly the need to relieve the federal deficit. U.S. Representative Norm Dicks, a Democrat, comments on the proposed cuts.
