Abstract
- The article discusses the application of literature study groups in the middle school in the U.S. According to the author, if literature study is done well it can foster generative learning which has impetus and could propel the learner to new experiences and new explorations. The authors argue that literature study in the middle grades should be based on books that matter to students.
