Global Insider: Turkey-Syria Relations.

An interview with international relations professor Malik Mufti at Tufts University in Massachusetts about Turkish-Syrian relations is presented. He attributes the poor bilateral relations between Turkey and Syria in the 1990s to the former's diversion of Euphrates waters and sponsorship of the Kurdish Parti Karkerani Kurdistan (PKK) rebellion by Syria. The professor highlights the significance of the democratic experiment of Turkey to its soft power. He predicts the persistence of the convergence of strategic interests of the nations.
