Abstract

The authors focus on the possible link between seizure frequencies in patients with end-stage renal disease (ESRD) undergoing regular dialysis. In their study, they note some ESRD patients who had suffered convulsive seizure during dialytic program. They also mentioned that cardiovascular abnormalities and sudden unexplained death in epilepsy (SUDEP) is a rare event in ESRD patients with epilepsy. They recommend some strategies to prevent these occurrences such as maintenance of a healthy weight and inclusion of omega 3 fatty acids from fish in the diet.
