Abstract

The article presents a study on the effects of urbanization to amphibian communities in terms of local and landscape context in Melbourne, Victoria. The study examined frog's breeding distribution at ponds in urban-rural gradient and landscape scales and the relationship of community with habitat quality through Bayesian Poisson regression modeling. Results show that richness of frog species is low at ponds surrounded by human settlers and high at ponds covered by green open space.
